H. Dick Hanigan R. H. Dick Hanigan, 73, Payette, died June 10, 2001 at home. Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, at the Payette High School Auditorium. Virgil service with recitation of Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Payette. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Payette. Funeral services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Dick was born Aug. 3, 1927 at Payette, Idaho to John T. "Jack" and Dorothy "Dot" Carstens Hanigan. He attended Payette Schools, graduating in 1945; he played sports throughout his school years but especially enjoyed baseball. In 1945, he enlisted in the navy and served two years in the Philippines. He attended the University of Portland and the University of Idaho. In 1950, Dick joined his father and brother at Hanigan Chevrolet. In September of 1951, he married Jeanne Kinney. To this union came four sons, Art, Tom, Pat and John. Dick coached local kids from the Little league to American Legion and was involved in the Development of Scotch Pines Golf Course and had four Aces at this special course. He was instrumental in developing Harmon Killebrew Field, and had the vision for the current high school facilities from a surplus radar dome on Dooley Mountain. He helped with the funding of the auditorium seats at the Payette High School, and was the ambassador from Payette for the induction of Harmon Killebrew into Coopertown's Baseball Hall of Fame. Survivors include his four sons and their families, Art and Georgia and their daughters, Arlie and Hayley of Payette; Tom and Elena, their children, Natalie and Andrew of Chicago; Pat and Charlotte and their son, Alex of Boise; and John and his children, David, Christian, Dylan and Candance of Marysville, Wash.; a very special friend, Ines Murphy and her children, Pete and Peggy Murphy, Diana and Terry Emigh, Kathleen and Jim Schram, Connie and Luke Anderson and Eileen and Randy Miltler; 14 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; one sister, Donna; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Jill of Payette, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to Scotch Pines Golf Course or the Corpus Christi building fund, in care of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O.
