Hansen, 87, Fruitland, died Jan. 19, 1992, in an Ontario hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fruitland, with Bishop LaMarr Kofoed of the Fruitland Second War officiating. Vault interment and dedicatory services will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland. He was born April 12, 1904, in Timmer, N.D., the son of John H. and Anna Margaret Erickson Hanson. He was raised and educated in North Dakota where he farmed. On Sept. 9, 1925, in Bottineau, N.D. he married the former Hazel Hall. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple Oct. 3, 1949. He managed creameries and dairies in Miles City, Mont. and Billings, Mont. They owned a restaurant in Big Timber, Mont., before moving to Fruitland in 1948. He managed the Carnation Milk Plant in Ontario from 1948-1961 and later retired from Ore-Ida in 1971 as the boiler manager. He was an active member of the Fruitland Second Ward church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many positions over the years and was a member of the High Priest Quorum. One of his favorite things was to fix things. He purchased some land at Gayway Junction, Fruitland, and put in apartments, a barber shop, a mobile home park, and a car lot which kept him busy working and fixing things. Survivors include his wife, Hazel of Fruitland, a son, Vernon Wallace Hansen of Yuma, Ariz.; two brothers, Glen Hanson of Billings, and Ed Hanson of Kimberly, five grandchildren, Jeanne Wood of Boise, Dick Hansen of Massapequa, N.Y., Colette Leachman of Lewiston, Willy Hansen of Coeur d'Alene, and Michael Hansen of Boise and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by tow sons, Noyce Erwin "Bill" Hansen and Clarence Carlyle Hansen; a daughter, Violet Anna Hansen; four brothers, Fred Hanson, Johnny Hanson, Alton Hanson and Theodore Hanson, and three sisters, Margaret Trafton, Alice Jacobson, Evelyn Helberg. Memorials may be made to the Primary Children Hospital in care of Shaffer- Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette 83661. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland, and from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.
