Henderson PAYETTE - Services for Nellie E. Henderson, 81, Payette, who died Sunday at a Payette nursing home, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church, Payette, by Pastor Bill Pulman, interment will be in Riverside Cemetery under the direction of the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. She was born June 13, 1893, in Wallowa, Ore. She grew up there and married Jake Henderson in 1909 in Wallowa. They lived in Wallowa until 1928 when they came to Payette where she since had resided. He died in 1945. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Payette, the Women's Council, the Women's Christian Temperance Union, and she was a Sunday school teacher for 48 years. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Payette. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Carstens of Payette and Mrs. Pauline "Polly" Strawn of Fruitland; two brothers, Howard "Boss" Davis of Payette and Delbert Davis of Marsing; a sister, Gladys Filer of Nampa, seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
