WM. RUDOLPH HOLLENBECK

Wm. Rudolph Hollenbeck, the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hollenbeck, was born 
April 16, 1912, in Payette and died at 11:15, Aug. 5, 1918, in Ontario 
hospital, when an operation was performed Sunday evening for acute 
appendicitis. 
Rudolph was a member of the Methodist church and Sunday school and was the only 
absent from his class when sick. One of his last thoughts as he was bidding his 
parents and loved ones good bye was giving his money to the Red Cross.
He leaves to mourn his early departure from this life besides his parents, his 
brother Robert, a half brother Gerald, and two half sisters, Mrs. Chas. Rich 
and Mary Hollenbeck. Mr. Gerald Hollenbeck arrived from Camp Lewis to attend 
the funeral. Rev. Chas. McCoard officiated. Interment was made in Riverside 
cemetery.
The many friends of the family sympathize with them.
So bright and strong and healthful was Master Rudolph Hollenbeck that we little 
thought that he would grow to noble Christian manhood. But how often the 
Heavenly Father plans differently for the little lives in our care and as we 
pluck the fairest and brightest flowers from our gardens, does “the Reaper” 
pluck the fairest and brightest of the Master, and we bow submissively to His 
will knowing “He doeth all thinngs well.”

did so many kind things during the time of our great sorrow.
