On Nov. 14, 1880 he was married to Rebecca Beeghly who passed away about thirteen years ago. To this union were born five sons and four daughters, one son and one daughter having preceded him in death. In 1903 the family moved from Maryland to a homestead near Williston, N. D., in 1910 they moved to their present home in Fruitland. Those who are left to mourn his passing are four sons, John, Galen and Floyd of Fruitland and Harvey of Detroit, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Ann Beehler, Ada and Ellen of Fruitland; six grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph of Yakima, Wa., and William of Raisin City, Cal.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Stoerlein and Mrs. Annie Kahl of Fresno, Cal., and Mrs. Sarah Fry of San Francisco, Cal., besides a host of other relatives and friends. Early in life he united with the Brethren church and has lived a consistent Christian life ever since, serving the church and his fellow men in every capacity that presented itself. The funeral was held at the Brethren church on Sunday at 2:30. Rev. Harry Thomas and Rev. Earl Fisher had charge of the services. Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Payette. Mr. Hostetler will be greatly missed in his church, his home, and among his friends and neighbors.
