R. INGALLS OF NEW PLYMOUTH PASSES Death came suddenly to A. R. Ingalls, of New Plymouth, last Saturday evening. While sitting at the supper table with Mrs. Ingalls and nephew his head suddenly dropped forward. Noticing that something was wrong she quickly summoned assistance and applied restorative remedies, but he did not rally -- death had come suddenly and the pleasant evening dinner hour was turned into one of sadness and gloom. Augustus Rice Ingalls was a pioneer and old time resident of New Plymouth, coming to the Payette valley over thirty years ago. He was born on December 27, 1867, near Chicago, Illinois, where he grew up to young manhood. He became salesman for the John V. Farwell Co., wholesale dry goods merchants, which position he held until he made his way to the far west. As a pioneer in New Plymouth, Mr. Ingalls engaged in many of the early undertakings of the community, filling positions of honor and trust. He ultimately specialized in fruit raising and fruit packing and handling. On January 19, 1912 he was married to Mrs. Meta Louise Wightman, who survives him. He died on November 27, at the age of 58 years and 11 months. Mr. Ingalls was a prominent member of the Knights of Pythias lodge and of the Woodmen of the World, both of which orders attended the funeral in a body. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church at New Plymouth, Rev. Clayton Judy, assisted by Rev. H. F. Knight officiating. The services at the grave were conducted by the Knights of Pythias lodge of Payette, of which he was a member, and were very impressive. Vocal selections were rendered at the church by Mrs. Clifford Glaze, of New Plymouth and Mrs. Bernard Eastman, of Payette. Burial took place at Park View Cemetery at New Plymouth. The Independent joins the many friends of Mrs. Ingalls in extending her our deepest sympathy.
