The Emmett correspondent to the Statesman gives the following under date of June 27: “Edward Jones, employed by J. W. Prestel & Sons on the log drive, was accidentally drowned this morning in the Payette river at the head of Seven Mill Slough, about four miles below town. He body was brought here and will be held pending inquiry as to his relatives. “Jones is said to be from Boise, he having been hired there to work on the log drive. He was about 35 years of age.
