Born March 26, 1876, in Willow Creek near New Plymouth, he lived in this area nearly all of his life. For a few years, he worked in the forest near Boise when some of the mines of the Boise Basin were still in operation and in the forest near Spokane. Mr. Kennedy delivered mail by horseback between Emmett and Payette when the Falk Store just east of New Plymouth was a central community gathering place. After that, he spent the greater part of his life ranching on the family homestead with his father and two brothers, of whom he was the last survivor. The ranch is now part of a game refuge. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Harriet Mathews and Mrs. Florence King, both of New Plymouth. Services were conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday at the new Plymouth Shaffer Memory chapel by the Rev. Hayden Abel of the First Baptist church. Interment followed at the Kennedy-Applegate cemetery northeast of New Plymouth.
