Koonce NEW PLYMOUTH - Services for Leonard P. Koonce, 73 of New Plymouth, were held Wednesday at Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, New Plymouth, by the Rev. Earl Traughber, New Plymouth Congregational church. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain Home. Koonce, who died Saturday in a Caldwell hospital, was born Nov. 5, 1906, in a Fairfield, Id., where he was reared and educated. He graduated from high school in Boise. He married Gladys H. Turner in 1928. They farmed in the Kuna and Melba areas. In 1958, he sold his farm and started working in the construction business. She died in 1967. He married Irene Albert in 1971 in Elko, Nev. They retired in 1972 and moved to New Plymouth. He was a member of the Operators and Engineers Union Local No. 370. Surviving are his wife of New Plymouth; two sons, Gaylen of Caldwell and Jack of Shoshone; a brother, Woodrow Koonce of Lewiston; a sister, Mrs. Otto Carico of Gooding; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and brother.
