Lattig PAYETTE - Marion A. Lattig, 76, Union Gap, Wash., formerly of Payette, a retired teacher, died Saturday, Feb. 7, at home. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Payette. (Independent Enterprise, Wednesday, February 18, 1987) Marion A. Lattig PAYETTE - Marion A Lattig, 76, Union Cap, Wash., formerly of Payette, a retired teacher, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1987, at home. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette, with the Rev. Robert Hefty of the First United Methodist church officiating. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery, Payette. She was born Jan. 16, 1911, at Payette, a daughter of Elmer F. and Edna Henry Lattig. She was reared and educated at Payette, graduating from Payette High School. She attended the Albion Normal college at Albion, Idaho, and later graduated from Ellensburg Normal College at Ellensburg, Wash., with a degree in education. She taught school at Kellogg, Idaho, and Emmett, then moved to Union Gap, where she taught at Terrace Heights Elementary School for many years. After her retirement she continued to tutor special education students. She was a member of the Washington State Education Association; the current president of the Yakima Wurlitzer Organ Club; current president and member of the Progressive Women's Club of Union Gap. She enjoyed music, playing the organ, her yard, fishing, rock collecting, horseback riding, all outdoor activities, and civic affairs. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Max Lattig of Payette and Elmer Newton of the Oregon Slope.
