Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery, Payette with Ritualistic Rites by Washoe Lodge No. 28, A.F. & A.M. of Payette. He was born June 21, 1901, in Manhattan, Kan., the son of Charles and Mary Logan. He moved with his mother at the age of three to Meadville, Pa. when his father died. He attended Meadville schools and Allegheny College and worked for the Meadville Telephone Company, starting at the age of 13. At the age of 20, he worked for the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company in Pueblo and Denver. He also traveled for two years as a telephone engineer. On Nov. 15, 1928, he became manager for the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company in Payette. He married Nellie Kenward on Jan. 30, 1937, at Payette, where they made their home. He retired from Mountain States Telephone Company in 1958. He then operated his family farm and a commercial spray service. He also kept bees and operated Logan Apiaries. He was also responsible for starting the Payette School Lunch program. He competed studies at Boise Junior College at the age of 65, and taught electricity at Treasure Valley Community college at Ontario and Rogue Community College at Grants Pass, Ore. from 1972 to 1980. In 1981, they moved to Boise. He attended Boise Friends Church. He was a 50 year member of the Washoe Lodge No. 28, AF & AM, Payette; the Scottish Rite Bodies of Boise; a 50 year member of the Lorraine Chapter No. 20, Order of the Eastern Star, Payette; a long-time member of the Payette Kiwanis club, serving as president in 1936; a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America; and a long time member of the Caladonians Society of Boise. He is survived by his wife, Nellie of Boise; three sons, John and Charles both of Boise and James of Pullman, Wash.; four daughters, Dr. Joyce Petrie of Portland, Susan Lemons of Ontario and Sarah Turner and Belinda Wymer, both of Boise; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
