C. Loveland, 40, alias "Punchy" Haynes of Nampa, who was killed and Warren (Red) Seyfried, 33, of Boise, who was arrested by officers Tuesday night near Boise following an alleged attempted burglary were both known here. Chief of Police Cecil Fetter said that Seyfried, with his wife and two children, lived in a home here for a time, and that Loveland frequently visited here with them. The chief also said that both were known to have had criminal records, and that they were kept under police surveillance during the time they were in the city. Press reports said that Loveland was shot and killed when he attempted to flee from the home where the attempted burglary was committed. Seyfried submitted to arrest when officers ordered him to halt. Officers had suspected the burglary and had set a trap to capture the would-be burglars, it was stated.
