Luther, widow of A. S. Luther, died at her home in this city, as announced in the Independent last week, Wednesday evening, September 5th. Mrs. Luther was born at Three Mile Bay, N. Y., July 1st, 1837, and had reached the age of 91 years, 2 months and 14 days. She was married to Aldrich S. Luther July 6th, 1856, of Piliar Point, N. Y. Mr. and Mrs. Luther came to Payette in 1907 and she has made her home here since that time. She joined the church more than 80 years ago and her life was consistently dedicated to the service of the Master. To spend an hour with her was an inspiration and a blessing. She lived more than her allotted time to bless her home and all who were privileged to know her. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2:30 and a touching sermon was preached by Rev. V. E. Hall who had been her pastor for six years. Interment took place at Riverside cemetery. She is survived by the following sons and daughters; Mrs. Ada C. Duke, Albany, N. Y.; Herbert S. Luther, Dexter, N.Y.; George I. Luther, Marion M. Luther and Martin O. Luther, Payette, Idaho, and Mrs. W. P. Ackerman, New Plymouth, Idaho.
