Martin Luther Dies In California

Martin Luther, well known former resident of Payette, passed away on August 8th 
at the home of his daughter, Margaret Fields, of Ojai, Cal., as a result of a 
heart attack.  Private funeral services were held August 11 at the Clausen 
Funeral Home in Ojai with cremation following.

Martin Oliver Luther was born March 8, 1876 in Watertown, New York.  He came to 
Idaho at an early age and worked in Boise for a time before coming to Payette.  
He served the City of Payette as city clerk and justice of the peace for many 
years and also served Payette county as probate judge for twenty-five years as 
well as being clerk of the school board.  He married Pearl Belle Waterman in 
1916 who died in May of 1938.

In November, 1950 he went to California to visit his daughter.

Surviving is a brother, Herbert Luther of Dexter, New York, sister, Miss Marian 
Luther of Payette, Idaho, and his daughter, Margaret Fields and son Bobby of 
Ojai, Calif.
