Manser PAYETTE - Shirley H. Manser, 76, Payette, owner of the Payette and Fruitland Ford automobile dealerships, died Monday, Feb. 2, 1987, in a Weiser hospital. Services were conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in St. James Episcopal Church, Payette, with the Rt. Rey William B. Spofford officiating. Private family burial followed in Rosedale Memorial Gardens, Payette, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette. He was born Sept. 9, 1910, in Mott, N.D., the son of Harry and Clara Behling Manser. He attended schools at Fruitland and graduated from Fruitland High School in 1929. He married Dorathy Swank on Oct. 22, 1932, at Payette. He purchased the Ford dealership franchise in (unreadable) 1985 he celebrated 50 years as a Ford dealer. He was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church, Payette; a past president of the Payette Chamber of Commerce; had served as a district and regional chairman of the Ford Dealer Council; he was a charter member and officer of the Idaho Auto Dealers Association, a member of the Kiwanis club, and had supported and participated in many Payette civic projects. He is survived by his wife Dorathy, Payette; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Carolyn Manser, Payette; and Tim and Teresa Manser, Weiser; a daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Lonnie Park, Boise; grandchildren, Jeff and Leigh Ann Manser, Boise; Rob and Marie Manser, Glendale, Ariz.; Carol Anne and Monty Calvert, Payette; Debbie and Jeff Williams, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Jennifer Park and Matthew Park, both of Boise; Kimberly, Raquel, Ashley, and Scott Manser, all of Weiser; great grandchildren, Kati, Maria, and Taylor Calvert, Payette; and nieces, Janice Manser Kinzer, Nampa. He was preceded in death by a son, his parents, a brother and a sister. Memorials may be made to the St. James Episcopal Church, Payette, 2109 Highland Drive, Payette 83661; or the Mountain States Tumor Institute, Boise.
