CRUSHED TO DEATH.

Just a the hour (8 o’clock) of going to press this morning a Greek named Mike 
Markontio, on a worktrain, was almost instantly killed by falling from a car 
under a wheel.  The unfortunate man was throwing on ties at the end of a car, 
the train moving very slowly, when he lost his balance and fell under one of 
the front wheels of the car just behind.  The accident was seen from the cab of 
the engine and the train was stopped before the wheel passed over the body of 
the man but his life had been crushed out.  Coroner Delano is now holding an 
inquest.
