Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church by Rev. B.F. Meredith Tuesday afternoon and interment was in Riverside cemetery at Payette. Julia Frances Graham was born in Earlville, Iowa, April 5, 1858. She was married March 3, 1884 to Wm. Melcher and to this union six children were born - - Mrs. C.E. Boor of Ironside, Elbert of Tacoma, Mrs. George Lockner, Mrs. James Lynn, Ira and Frank of Fruitland. Her husband died in January, 1928. For some years Mrs. Melcher lived in Nebraska, coming with the family to Fruitland in 1902. Owing to deafness and other physical infirmities she spend her later years mostly at home. Her departure from this life will leave a large vacancy in the family circle and among her many friends, by whom she was dearly loved.
