Melcher Wm. Melcher was born at Logan, Ohio, June 6, 1861, and died at his home in Fruitland January 28, 1928, aged 66 years, 7 months and 22 days. He was married to Julia Frances Graham at Earlville, Iowa, March 3, 1884. Mr. Melcher with his family, moved to Fruitland from Boone, Nebraska, in the fall of 1902, where they have since resided. Mr. Melcher leaves besides his widow, six children as follows: Mrs. Edith Boor, Ironside, Oregon; Bert Melcher, Tacoma, Washington; Mrs. Alice Lockner, Mrs. Gertrude Lynn, Ira and Frank Melcher of Fruitland, 12 grandchildren, one sister and three brothers. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church condutced by Rev. W.A. Winters, services at the grave being in charge of the M.W.A. and Royal Neighbors, of which deceased was a member, interment being made in Riverside cemetery at Payette.
