Former Fruitlander Died in Dakota
 
Charley E. Mitchell, former Fruitland resident, passed away the Veterans 
hospital in Ft. Meade, South Dakota, January 26, after an extended illness.
 
He was born November 20, 1893, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
 
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p. m. with Rev. Arthur Baldwin 
officiating and interment was at Riverside cemetery in Payette.
 
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Marie Syme, of Fruitland; one brother, Ralph 
Syme and two half brothers, Kenneth and Banks Syme, all of Fruitland; and two 
sisters.
