Sad news was received by Mrs. H. C. Dillon of the death of Mr. and Mrs. Sam 
Monks in Spalding, Nebraska,  Mr. and Mrs. Monks were pioneers in New Plymouth 
at one time and occupied the Dave Slone ranch west of town.  Mrs. Monks died 
of the flu March 22nd, age 81 and Mr. Monks passed away the following 
Saturday, aged 73, of the same malady.  They are survived by one son, Dillard 
Monks.
