Mr. Morton and his nephew were engaged swimming a small band of cattle across the river and followed them in, Edwards being in the lead. When the opposite bank was nearly reached he heard a cry from Morton and upon turning around to learn the cause. Morton had disappeared from view. The body has not been recovered. He was a son of Leo Morton and was aged 24 years.
