MOSS PAYETTE-Fred. M. Moss, 91, of Payette, died Saturday at an Ontario hospital. Services were conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Payette First United Methodist Church, by Rev. Paul Tracy of St. James Episcopal Church. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery at Payette, with ritualistic rites by Washoe Lodge No. 28, AF & AM, of Payette, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Chapel of Payette. He was born March 19, 1888, at Payette, where he was reared and educated. He graduated from Washington State University in 1910 with a degree in electrical engineering. He also was a charter member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity of WSU. He married Anna Loretta Brennan on June 19, 1917, at Graceville, Minn. She died in 1961. He married Frieda Wegener on Oct. 19, 1968, at Reno, Nev. He served as executive vice president of the Idaho Canning Co., from 1928 until 1969, when he retired. He was a lifetime member of the St. James Episcopal Church, Payette, a past president of the Northwest Canners and Freezers Association, an honorary lifetime board member of the National Canners Association, a 50 year member and past worshipful master of Washoe Lodge No. 28, AF & AM, Payette, a 50 year member and past high priest of the Payette Chapter No. 8, Royal Arch Masons, a 50 year charter member and past illustrious master of the Royal and Select Masters of Idaho, King Solomon Council No. 4, Payette, a member of the Weiser Commandry of Knights Templar, the Scottish Rite Valley of Boise, a 50 year member of El Korah Shrine Temple of Boise, a charter member and past president of the Payette Shrine Club, a past director of the Royal Order of Jesters, Boise Court No. 31, a lifetime member of the Boise Elks Lodge No. 310, a member of the Arid Club, Boise, the Payette Kiwanis Club, the Payette Chamber of Commerce and was a former member of the Payette Country Band. In 1978 he received the distinguished citizen award from the Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are his wife of Payette; a son, Robert Moss, of Payette; a daughter, Mrs. Walter T. (Dorothy) Ingersoll of Ukiah, Calif., and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters. The family suggests memorials to the Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital in care of the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette.
