Velda F. Nelson
 
Velda Fern Nelson, 86, Payette, passed away May 7, 2000 at home.  Celebration 
of Life Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic 
Church, Payette.  Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen 
Memory Chapel, Payette.
 
Velda was born May 1, 1914, at Wilson, Idaho to Joseph Strong & Mabel Kenison 
Strong.  She married Elmo Nelson on March 17, 1934, at Nampa, Idaho.
 
Survivors include her children, Marie Robinette of Payette, Norma and Terry 
Sigfrit of Weiser, and Bill and Jan Nelson and Gene and Charlotte Nelson, all 
of Payette; three brothers, Joe & Garry Strong, both of Horseshoe Bend; two 
sisters, Opal Thompson of Boise and Mary Karn of Vancouver, Wash.; 11 
grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by Elmo, her second husband Horace Hibbard and one 
grandson, Dennis W. Nelson.
 
Memorials may be sent to "Memorial Fund" Corpus Christi Catholic Community in 
care of Holy Family Catholic Church, P.O. Box 818, Payette, ID 83661 or a 
charity of your choice.
