It was discovered some months ago by the attending physician that the child had diabetes, a ver rare case for one so young, and grave fears were entertained for his recovery. He was immediately taken to a specialist at Waukesha, Wis., where for a time he seemed to improve and was returned home with hopes that he might out-grow the dreaded disease, but all hopes were blighted when a short time before the death angel came to take the untarnished little soul, he became suddenly worse and while every effort was made to restore him, it was of no avail. Only a few days before he was taken away, he seemed to know he could not live and told his father and mother that he was going to die and asked to be laid to rest beside his little play mate, Harry McCarthy. While the death of this little one was not altogether a surprise, yet there is the little vacant chair, the little shoes that once made hearts glad with their patter on the floor, the little playthings that constantly keep them in mind of the once bright little one that would have been their pride through life, but the little bud was plucked before bloom. Yet amid the keenest of sorrow, there is one consoling thought, he has left a cruel world of sorrow, sin and temptation, and gone back from whence he came, pure, sweet and innocent, with the little soul untarnished, where sin and moth doth not corrupt. Arnold Stetson Norris was borne at Weiser, Idaho, Jan. 4th, 1912, and died at Payette, Idaho, Dec. 30, 1916, aged 4 years, 11 months and 26 days. The funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian church, at 2 o'clock, Wednesday, Jan. 3rd, by Rev. M. D. Reed. A large number of friends were in attendance. The little white casket was hidden with many beautiful floral offerings. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery, where the two little playmates now lay side by side.
