Services were held at 10:30 a.m. today with the Rev. Percey Hartland officiating. Mr. Oberg was born March 20, 1868, at Ovanaker, Sweden, and moved from Edsbyn, Sweden, to the U.S. in 1890. He lived at Boone, Iowa, for 30 years before coming to Payette 35 years ago. He was married March 23, 1910, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Margaret Schmidt. He was a member of the Sweden Lutheran church. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Oberg are a daughter, Mrs. Ellen Bigelow of Payette; a step-son, Otto Ahrens of Emmett; five step-daughters, Miss Kathryn Ahrens and Mrs. Pauline Maule, both of payette, Mrs. Rillie Reiher of Emmett, Mrs. Marie Barge of Salem, Ore., and Mrs. Mame Rose of Portland; a brother, Carl Oberg of Edsbyn; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Blomquist of Edsbyn and Mrs. Bertha Schrieben of Phoenix, Ariz; two nephews, Olaf Oberg of Des Moines, Iowa, and William Young of Iola, Kan.; one niece, Mrs. Karl Nero of Albert City, Iowa, and 15 grand children. Interment was at Riverside under the direction of Shaffer Memory Chapel.
