HENRY B. ORCUTT
 
Henry B. Orcutt was born in Lagro, Indiana, on December 23, 1858 and died 
December 4, 1936 at the age of seventy-seven years, eleven months and eleven 
days.  At an early age he moved with his parents to Minnesota.  He was married 
to Sarah Amanda Stowell on April 16, 1884 and to this union seven children 
were born.  Mrs. Orcutt and two children preceded him in death, leaving to 
mourn his loss two sons and three daughters, Hugh H. Orcutt of Nampa, Arthur 
O. Orcutt of Mt. Shasta, California; Mrs. Mabel E. Putnam of Payette; Mrs. 
Gladys F. Urey of Eugene, Oregon, and Mrs. Esther O'Leary of Weiser.  Two 
brothers, Wright Orcutt of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Fran Orcutt of 
Vancouver, Washington and nineteen grandchildren also survive.
 
He with his family came to Payette in February, 1901 and he worked with the 
Pacific Fruit Express at Washoe for sixteen years.  He also was engaged in 
farming for a number of years on the Oregon Slope.  After the death of his 
wife he moved to Weiser where he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Esther 
O'Leary.
 
He was always active in anything that was for the upbuild and betterment of 
the community and leaves a large number of friends to mourn his death.  
 
He had been stricken with a heart attack on Thursday and died the following 
day.  Funeral services were held from the Northam Funeral Home in Weiser and 
interment was in Riverside cemetery in Payette beside his wife.
