Augusta Pape
 
Augusta Pape, 90, Payette, died Aug. 23, 1988, in a Payette nursing home.  
Graveside services were at 10 a.m., Aug. 27 at Rosedale Memorial Gardens, 
Payette.  Pastor Herb Christensen of the Assembly of God Church, Payette, 
officiated, and Rev. A. E. Rainwater, retired pastor of the Assembly of God 
Church assisted, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
 
She was born July 25, 1898, at Alta Vista, Kan., a daughter of Ed. E. and 
Maria Kahle.  She was raised in Wabaunsee County, Kan., where her parents 
farmed.  She worked there as a young woman.  She married Ed E. Pape on March 
9, 1921, at Alma, Kan.  They farmed together in Kansas and raised their 
children there.  In 1955, they moved to Payette, where they farmed until 
retirement in 1970.  She was a member of the Assembly of God church, Payette.  
She enjoyed crocheting, keeping house plants, and flowers and vegetable 
gardening.  Augusta and Ed loved to fish together.
 
Survivors include three sons, J. E. Pape of Kennewick, Wash., Paul R. Pape and 
Phillip Pape both of Payette; two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Ruth) Grimm of 
Tonkawa, Okla., and Mrs. Tom (Mary) Craig of Nampa; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-
grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death 
by her husband, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
 
Memorials may be made to the Assembly of God Church, Payette, in care of 
Shaffer-Jensen memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, Idaho  83661.
