H. P. Peterson, who was killed by an O. S. L. train Wednesday morning of last week, was preached by Dr. Gilleland at the M. E. church Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Howarth of Payette and Rev. Harry Hamilton of Alicell, Ore., who were classmates of Rev. Peterson at Morning Side College Sioux City, Ia., added their tribute to his memory. The following ministers were present at the funeral: Rev. Powell, Caldwell; Rev. Mathews and Rev. Barnes, Boise; Rev. Gilliland, La Grande; Rev. Riesier, Imbler, Ore.; Rev. Deal and Osterhaut, Nampa; Rev. Deal, Fruitland; Rev. Bush, Nyssa; Rev. Johns, Ontario and Rev. ?aley and Howarth of Payette. The aged father was not able to come for the remains but will meet them at Sioux City. Rev. Hamilton left in charge of the body Tuesday afternoon. Illness of the babe prevented Mrs. Peterson from being present at the funeral services and precluded her going back to the old home in Iowa where her husband is to be buried. The unfortunate accident is particularly sad and a great shock to the many friends and acquaintances of the young minister.
