Lauretta Pierce, 62, of Payette at the St. James church in Payette. The Rev. Dr. Fred Pickett officiated with interment at Riverside under the direction of Shaffer Memory chapel. Mrs. Pierce died Friday in an Ontario hospital following a long illness. Born in Salmon, Idaho, March 17. 1900, she lived most of her life in or near Payette. For many years she was employed by Farber’s Department Store. She was a member of St. James Episcopal church, Pat noble grand of Harmony Rebekah lodge, president of the Past Noble Grand club and past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, E. W. Pierce; two sons, Sgt. Edward W. Pierce, Jr., of Forbes Air Force Base, Topeka, Kan., and Robert W. Pierce, of Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Chapel of Ontario, Mrs. Mary Olive Burak of Boise; her mother, Mrs. Minnie E. Whipple of Emmett; a sister, Mrs. Willard Foreman of Emmett; four brothers, Fred Ramey of Salmon, Idaho, Frank Ramey of Pocatello, John Ramey of Blackfoot, and Robert Ramey of New York City, N. Y.; 13 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
