He was born July 25, 1912 at Deer Creek, Okla. He moved to Portland at a young age. He graduated from Benson High School in Portland. He married Helen Slayback on Feb. 12, 1934 in Portland. They moved to Payette in 1956, then returned to Portland in 1967. They retired to Payette in 1977. He was a meat cutter. He was a past master of Waverly Lodge No. 174, AF and AM, Portland; he was a member of Washoe Lodge No. 28, AF and AM, Payette; member of Payette Chapter No. 8, Royal and Select Masters, Payette; Weiser Commandry No. 7, Knights Templar; El Korah Shrine Temple, Boise; and past patron of Lorraine Chapter No. 20, Order of Eastern Star, Payette. Surviving are his wife of Payette; a son, Richard of Weiser; a daughter, Mrs. Bud (Niki) Wells of Boise; three sisters, Sally Trosper of Missoula, Mont.; Mildred Perry of Portland and Margurite Porter of Milton-Freewater, Ore.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital.
