G. Ransom Mrs. S. G. Ransom passed away Sunday morning at 9 o' clock at her home after many months of illness. Rhoda Norris Ransom was born in Greenforest, Ark., May 22, 1876 and died August 4, 1940 at her home in Fruitland. She was married to Sidney G. Ransom Dec. 22, 1901. Four children were born to this union, three sons and a daughter, Fannie, who died at the age of seven. The Ransoms came west in 1913 homesteading in Oregon then moving to Fruitland in 1917. Mrs. Ransom was a loyal member of the Royal Neighbors, always active until her illness. She was a member of the Methodist Church and an aid worker. She, with Mr. Ransom, were state officials of the Spanish-American veterans and auxilliary. She leaves to mourn her passing, her devoted husband, S. G. Ransom, and three sons, Chalmer of Sunset Beach, Cal., Reyburn of Seattle and Lindle of Long Beach, Cal. Two sisters, Mrs. James Jackson of Myrtle, Ark., and Mrs. Frank Howard of Wild Horse, Colo., three brothers, Silas of Denver, Ark., Roy of Antelope, Cal., and Jarrett of New Mexico, two daughter-in-laws and two grandsons. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church at 2 o' clock by Rev. Cy Heggler of Mausta, Ore., a Spanish war veteran.
