W. RANSOM Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Congregational church in New Plymouth for Asher Wheeler Ransom of Payette. Mr. Ransom died here at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lulu Patterson, on June 20, 1942 at the age of eighty- five. Asher Wheeler Ransom was born at Coldwater, Michigan, December 2, 1856. When he was a small boy the family moved to Smith Center, Kansas where he later married Miss Cora Inez Choate on May 4, 1880. eleven children were born to this union. The Ransoms came to New Plymouth September 14, 1902. Mrs. Ransom preceded her husband in death February 14, 1935 after which Mr. Ransom went to live with his daughter, Mrs. Patterson. The deceased is survived by one brother, M. M. Ransom of Salem, Oregon, four daughters, Mrs. J. E. Small of Roanoke, Ill., Mrs. Chester A. Smith of Baker, Ore., Mrs. J. L. Patterson of Payette and Mrs. C. V. Knight of Parma, three sons, Elmer Ransom of Payette and C. F. and Lauren M. Ransom of Portland. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. C. V. Carlson, pastor of the Congregational church at New Plymouth. Interment was in the New Plymouth cemetery under the direction of the Landon Funeral Home.
