Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. The Rev. Earl Traughber of the Church of the Brethren, Fruitland, will officiate, under the direction of Shaffer Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. He was born June 26, 1918, in Ft. Collins, Colo., the son of Henri and Elizabeth Leonhert Schaeffer. After his military service he moved to Weiser and started working for Union Pacific Railroad as a gandy dancer. He spent many years working for Robinette Branch of track near Weiser. He moved to Payette in 1954. On Dec. 20, 1955, in Humboldt County, Nev., he married Ada A. Pine who preceded him in death, Feb. 29, 1992. They moved to Fruitland in 1961 where he has since resided. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include a brother, Gene Schaeffer of Citrus Heights, Calif.; four sisters, Emma Welch, Mapleton, Ore., Caroly (Carolyn ?)Esparza of Mabton, Wash., Bertha Schaeffer of Gering, Neb., and Martha Griess of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a nephew Gary Sauer of Boise, and a step-son Colee McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Walter, and a sister, Clara. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Shaffer Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
