Shake, who left here for Seattle March 24th, where he was operated upon for cancer of the stomach, died in that city Sunday. Mrs. Shake and a younger daughter were with him at the time of his death. Deceased was 50 years of age and leaves a widow, three sons and four daughters. Mr. Shake owns a 40 acre ranch two miles south of Fruitland, and had been a resident of this community for the past fifteen years. Mrs. Shake arrived yesterday from Washington with the remains and the funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon in the Christian church at Payette.
