John Orrick Shamberger died in the Holy Rosary Hospital in Ontario, Oregon, 
August 1, 1931, at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 17 days.  His funeral was 
held from the Landon Undertaking Parlors Tuesday morning of this week.
 
He was born at Shamburg, near Baltimore, Maryland, February 15, 1850.  He left 
Maryland in 1880 for the west and from then until 1902 he engaged in mining in 
the Butte and Coeur d'Alene mining districts.  He came from there to Payette 
where he has resided ever since.  He is survived by one brother and two 
sisters.
 
Miss Susanna Shamberger of Payette is his sister.
