Shaw Nathan Ruston Shaw, 81, of Santa Clara, Calif., died Saturday in a Mountain View, Calif. hospital. He was a long time Idahoan. Born in West Union, Iowa, he moved with his family to New Plymouth in 1895. The family was among the first settlers there and Mr. Shaw helped in planning the town. They also helped organize the New Plymouth Congregational Church and Mr. Shaw served for many years in various church offices and in the choir. In 1906 he was married to Kittie V. Ransom. They lived in Eldorado, Idaho, where he was engaged int he lumber business for a time. From there they moved to Cottage Grove, Ore., then to Tamarack, Idaho. They returned in 1918 to New Plymouth, where Mr. Shaw operated a farm until 1944. At that time they moved to Boise and he opened a grain brokerage business. He and his wife joined the Wright Congregational Church. They retired in 1956 and moved to Santa Clara, where they had since lived. In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. James MacInnis of San Francisco and Mrs. Fred Nicodemus of Santa Clara; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Johnson and Mrs. Loraine Lane of Magalia, Calif., and three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will be today at the Colonial Chapel in Mountain View, with interment to follow at Cyprus Lawn in Colma, Calif.
