Wednesday at the Holy Family Catholic church. The Rev. Father Michael J. McGowen officiated. Recitation of the Rosary was at Shaffer memory chapel Tuesday evening at 7:30. Mrs. Shelton passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Precht, Sunday. She was born in 1862 at St. Sylvester, Canada and was married to Delton W. Shelton in 1884. She came to Payette in 1910 with her late husband (who passed away in 1939) and together they operated the City Meat Market in Payette. They also owned the Fruitland bakery in 1930 and lived in this community until 1939. Mrs. Shelton spent the past ten years living here and in Seattle with her other daughter, Mrs. Georgianna Cagle. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Precht of Payette and Mrs. Georgianna Cagle of Seattle. Eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive. Preceding her in passing was her husband and two sons, Harry who died at Camp Dodge in Iowa during the first world war and James who passed away in 1943 after surviving the bombing of Dutch Harbor in Alaska.
