C. A. SMITH DIES SUDDENLY

C. A. Smith passed away suddenly Wednesday evening at the home of his son, C. 
A. Smith, Jr.  Mr. Smith who came to Payette last July for an extended visit at 
the home of his son, seeming was in his usual health until a few days ago when 
he complained of not feeling well but was up and around doing some light work, 
and about five o’clock went into the bathroom where he was stricken suddenly 
with apoplexy and passed away without a moment’s warning.  
 During Mr. Smith’s short stay in Payette he had made many friends who were 
grieved to learn of his sudden death.  His body will be taken to Kerney, Neb., 
for burial, leaving here on the early train Friday morning accompanied by his 
son C. A. Smith and also, his daughter, who came to Payette with him last July.
