Smith Nathan Edgar Smith, 77, New Plymouth, passed away May 29, 2000 at home. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Nathan was born July 23, 1922 at Doniphan, Mo., to Eziekel and Edith Smith. He served in the U.S. Navy until 1946 and on Oct. 16, 1950, married Elaine Renner in Minot, N.D. He retired after many years as an auto painter. His hobbies included fishing, baseball, and listening to music, and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Collins of Meridian; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Jim Lambert and Shelly and Kevin Wilson, all of New Plymouth; a son, Nathan Smith Jr. also of New Plymouth; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Williams of Littleton, Colo.; a brother, Dale Smith of New Plymouth, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, in care of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
