Snyder Services for Rhoda E. Snyder, 60, of Caldwell, who died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 1984, in a Caldwell hospital following a extended illness, were conducted Aug. 18, at the Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Pastor Clarence Stomp of the Faith Lutheran Church, Caldwell, officiated. Interment followed in Rosedale Memorial Park at Payette. Mrs. Snyder was born on March 19, 1924, at Boardman, Ore., daughter of Walter and Effie Knauff. The family lived at Boardman, La Grande, Ore., and Huntington, Ore., and moved to Emmett in 1934. She completed grade school at Letha and attended Emmett High School. She enlisted in the U. S. Navy WAVES during World War II where she served from Nov. 26, 1943 until May 8, 1945. She was stationed at the U. S. Naval Training School at Bronx, N.Y., and the Naval Research Laboratory at Washington D. C. She had been employed by the J. R. Simplot Co. for the past 16 years. She married Jack Allen on Oct. 12, 1947, at Winnemucca, Nev., who preceded her in death. She later married Bill Snyder on May 12, 1964 at Caldwell. Survivors include her husband, Bill of Caldwell; two sons, Capt. Philip Allen in the U. S. Army at Fort Knox, Ky., and Eddy Ackley of Boise; two daughters, Judy Michael of Kennewick, Wash., and Jackie Kitchin of Caldwell; a stepdaughter, Judy LaVar of Springfield, Ill.; a brother, John Knauff of Donnelly; two sisters, Hazel M. Scott of Emmett and Maxine DeHaven of Parma; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a niece. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Mountain States Tumor Institute.
