The accident occurred about eleven o'clock last night and the lad passed away about four o'clock this morning. Sheriff Rose, this morning in making an investigation of the accident and an inquest may be held sometime this afternoon. Sheriff Rose was called to the scene of the accident immediately and the boy was taken to the Ontario hospital. No arrests were made as all indications point to the fact that the motorists involved were in no wise to blame. According to the investigation made this far it seems that Sumerville was riding his motorcycle on the highway east of Payette, a Kansas car with trailer headed east and a Payette county car and trailer headed west. The lad evidently did not see the trailer on the rear of the Kansas car and his machine struck it, throwing him under the approaching Idaho automobile. Dr. E. D. Parkinson attended the lad at the Ontario hospital and an examination of his injuries revealed the fact that the entire lower portion of the body was badly crushed. The lad retained consciousness up until the time of death. Orville Sumerville, Jr., at the time of his death was 21 years of age. He was born in New Plymouth and resided in the city until about six years ago when the family moved to Payette and he was a student in the local school for several years. Besides his parents the boy is survived by a sister, Bertha. No announcement has as yet been made as to funeral arrangements. Orville Sumerville, Sr. the father of the lad, is well known in Payette, having been employed by the city for a number of years. Last summer he was engaged as a driver for the sprinkling truck.
