L. Sparks Mrs. Stephen L. Sparks, wife of a well know pioneer of the community, died suddenly of heart failure early Tuesday morning at her home north of the city. Her body was shipped to her old home at Wilmington, Ohio, for burial on Wednesday afternoon, the bereaved husband having accompanied it. Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church at 11 o'clock a. m., on Wednesday by the Woman's Relief Corps, of which Mrs. Sparks was a member, a short address having been made by the Rev. Charles McCoard. Mr. Sparks has requested the Independent to express for him his deep appreciation of the sympathy and aid extended to him in the hour of his bereavement by his Masonic brethren and his comrades of the Grand Army and by the ladies of the Relief Corps.
