Strawn FRUITLAND - Clarence Russell Strawn, 72, of Fruitland, died Thursday at his home of natural causes. Services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist church of Fruitland by the Rev. Keith Maxwell. Interment will be at Park View, New Plymouth. He was born Dec. 15, 1899, at Murray, Iowa. The family moved to Idaho in 1908 and they settled on a farm south of Fruitland. He grew up and attended schools at Fruitland. He married Eva. L. Holt on March 8, 1925, at Payette. He farmed all his life. He was a member of the Fruitland United Methodist Church, the Elks Lodge No. 1690 of Ontario, the Odd Fellows Lodge of New Plymouth, a director of the Farmers Mutual Telephone Co. of Fruitland, a director of the Park View cemetery, a director and past president of the Payette County Farm Bureau, a director of the Diamond Fruit Co. of Fruitland and served on the Fruitland School board. Survivors besides his wife of Fruitland, include a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Arlene) Eby of Boise; two sons, Richard B. Strawn of Fruitland and C. Eugene Strawn of Ontario; three brothers, Lester Strawn of New Plymouth, Keith Strawn of Fruitland and Rose Strawn of Weiser; three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Lucille) Shepard, Payette; Mrs. Anson (Hazel) Davis of Fruitland, and Mrs. Mary Amick of San Diego, Calif; and nine grandchildren. A brother, Chester died in 1956.
