F. Tolhurst of Payson, Utah, died Sunday afternoon at the Holy Rosary hospital at Ontario, from injuries received in an auto accident, three miles north of Ontario, on the Old Oregon Trail. Her two daughters 26 and 22 years of age were seriously injured, but will recover. The father of the girls, who was driving the car and a niece, 9 years of age, escaped with minor injuries. The family was returning home from a visit with relatives in Canada, and when near the concrete bridge across the Malheur river, three miles north of Ontario, the car, going at a rapid rate of speed, failed to make the curve, and after going into the barrow pit on one side of the road and across the road to the other side, then rolled over several times. Mrs. Tolhurst was thrown clear of the car, suffering several compound fractures of arms and legs. Dr. C. C. Conant of Weiser, who fortunately came upon the accident a few minutes later, rendered first aid and rushed them to the Holy Rosary hospital, where Mrs. Tolhurst died in a few hours. While some were quite seriously injured, the family was taken to the train and started for their home in Utah.
