Turner Services for Howard F. Turner, 58, Fruitland, who died of natural causes Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1984, in an Ontario hospital, were conducted Monday at Lienkaemper Chapel in Ontario, with Rev. Ron D. Borden of the Fruitland United Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. He was born Jan. 23, 1925 at Mountain Grove, Mo., where he was raised and educated. He moved to Homedale, Idaho in 1942. He entered the U.S. Navy and was discharged in 1946, returning to Homedale. He married Opal Johannessen July 3, 1946 in Caldwell. He attended Telegrapher School in Nampa and began working for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1950, working in Wyoming, Idaho and Oregon. At the time of his death he was station agent in Nyssa for the Union Pacific Railroad. Survivors include his wife, of Fruitland; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Sandra) Bulter of Ft. Benning, Ga., his mother, Stella Turner of Homedale; five brothers, Duane Turner of Pinole, Calif.; Maurice Turner of San Diego, Calif.; Donald Turner of Caldwell; Junior and Ervin Turner of Homedale; five sisters; Vera Sellars of Mountain Grove; Janet Hightower of Batesville, Ark.; Jewell Smart and Bonnie Ingle of Marsing; Donna Haney of Nyssa, and three grandchildren, Jencina May Butler, William Butler, and Noelanni Butler. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
