The gruesome find was made by boys while fishing. On investigation it was found to be the body of a baby girl fully dressed and supposed to be about six months old. The remains were badly decomposed and had evidently been exposed for four or five months. Coroner Robinson was notified and made an investigation, after which the body was ordered interred. There was no clue to the child's identity.
