Graveside services were 2 p.m. Aug . 23 at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. A family friend, Doug Hamilton, a lay minister, officiated. Services were under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen memory Chapel, New Plymouth. She was born Feb. 5, 1917, at Emmett, a daughter of Ralph and Elizabeth Vanderdawson. She was raised in the area and graduated from Emmett High School. She married Arthur Ellis Smith in 1936. They were later divorced. She later married Jim Washburn at Redmond. She worked as a waitress in Klamath Falls and Burns. She has spent the last several years in New Plymouth near her family. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sharon Smith and Dale and Kay Smith, all of New Plymouth and Allen and Avis Smith of Spokane, Wash. and Kirk and June Smith of Jerome; two daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Jerry Reily of Issaquah, Wash., and Adele and Ben Blair of Renton, Wash.; one sister, Dorothy Taylor of Parma; 18 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, two sisters, and three brothers.
