E. Wilcox, passed away Jan. 18, 1946 at her home north of Fruitland. She was born Jan. 23, 1871 at Chanute, Kansas. She was married to D. E. Wilcox, December 11, 1891 at Walsenburg, Colo. They came to Payette in 1909 and Mr. Wilcox ran a meat market for several years. Mrs. Wilcox was a lifetime member of the Methodist church and a member of the Relief corps. At the age of 11 years her mother passed away and she, being the oldest of five children, mothered and reared the four younger brothers and sisters. In addition to her own family she also reared a niece and a nephew, Everett Hottenstein who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband D. E. Wilcox; one son, Weldon Wilcox of Ontario, Ore.; four daughters, Mrs. Crete Mackey, Mrs. Gladys Bowman, Mrs. Dorothy Groleau and Rose May of Los Angeles; Three grandchildren, Lt. Jack Bowman of the Air Corps in China, Miss Turza Lynn Wilcox of Ontario and Mrs. Ellouise Lockner and great-grandson, Larry Lee Lockner. Services were conducted Monday at 2:00 p. m. in the Methodist church in Payette with Rev. Paul Felthouse officiating. Interment was at Riverside. (Mrs. D. E. Wilcox Dies Jany 18th) Mrs. D. E. Wilcox passed away Jan. 18, and funeral services were conducted at the Payette Baptist church Monday with Rev. Paul Felthouse officiating. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery with Landon's Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Rose Ella Hottenstein was born at Chanute, Kansas January 23, 1871. She was married December 16, 1891 to D. E. Wilcox at Westcliff, Colo. The family lived in Colorado for a number of years and came to Payette in 1909 and have resided in this community ever since that time. She was a life long member of the Methodist church and was also affiliated with the Women's Relief Corps. Surviving are her husband, D. E. Wilcox; a son, W. E. Wilcox, of Ontario, and her daughters, Mrs. Rete Mackey and Mrs. Gladys Bowman, of Payette; Mrs. Dorothy Groleau and Rose May Hottenstein of Los Angeles, Cal.; three grandchildren, Lt. Jack Bowman of the Army Air corps, serving in China; Mrs. Ellouise Lockner of Fruitland and Turza Lynn Wilcox of Ontario and one great- grandchild.
