PRETTY WEDDING SOLEMNIZED
 
TWO OF PAYETTE'S POPULAR YOUNG PEOPLE JOINED IN THE BONDS OF WEDLOCK
 
A pretty wedding was solemnized Thursday morning, July 5, at the home of Mrs. 
Sarah P. Driscoll, when her daughter, Helen, became the bride of Ferrin 
Harland.
 
Promptly at ten o'clock Miss Irene Harland sang "Some Day When You Are Mine."  
Mendelssohn's wedding march was played by Mrs. J. M. Driscoll of Weiser.  The 
groom and his best man, Albert Harland, preceded by Rev. Ashworth, entered 
from the dining room and awaited the bride who descended the stairway 
accompanied by both of her sisters.
 
The bridal party stood under a beautifully decorated arch of smilax and pink 
roses .  Rev. Ashworth in performing the ceremony, used the Episcopal double 
ring service.  While the vows were exchanged an accompaniment, "Wild Rose," 
was played softly.
 
The bride's gown was a sheer lingerie with an over (unreadable) of baby Irish 
lace.  She wore a veil exquisitely arranged with pearls and white sweet peas.  
She carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses, lilies and sweet peas.
 
Mrs. Lela D. Painter of Middleton was Matron of Honor wearing pink and 
carrying a bouquet of pink roses.  Miss Eda Gorrie as bridesmaid, wore yellow 
and carried marguerites.
 
Only the immediate families of the bride and groom were present.
 
Following the ceremony a buffet breakfast was served in the dining room where, 
as thruout the house, pink and white roses prevailed.  Mrs. H. Harland poured 
and little Misses Jane Harland and Lita Alspach assisted in serving.
 
Immediately after the breakfast the bridal couple left by auto for the Payette 
Lakes where they will spend a few days.  Mr. and Mrs. Harland will be at home 
on Orchard Avenue after August 1.
 
Note:  According to Payette County Marriage Records, Ferrin G. Harlan married 
Helen Driscoll on 7-5-1917, Payette.  It appears the marriage certificate is a 
typo and the last name is HARLAND. ch
