The many friends of Mary McClannahan and Billy (Frank D.) Case have watched their courtship with proper interest, and so were not surprised when the announcement went out that Sunday, August 19th was the date for the wedding. They were married at the McClannahan home in the presence of a house full of friends, mostly relatives, Rev. M. D. Reed officiating. It was in every way a charming wedding with sincere congratulations, dainty refreshments, and delightful music rendered by Miss Ruth Short. The bridal couple had announced their plan to take No 17 for Portland, but they had not announced that they would receive their chivalry, at long range, and the rice and old shoes by parcel post. Just in the midst of gleeful conversation it was discovered that there was no bride or bridegroom present; they had slipped away somewhere and left the guests to enjoy one another as best they might and say goodnight to one another when they got ready. They went on the Portland trip however where they will visit friends some time and then go on to California where they will make their home if plans develop as they hope. They bear away god wishes in number and measure that would be hard to tell. Note: According to Payette County Marriage records, Frank D. Case married Mary E. McClanahan on 8-19-1917, Payette. ch File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/id/payette/vitals/marriages/mcclanah220gmr.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/idfiles/ File size: 2.2 Kb
